Blue Dragon is an East meets West style fusion restaurant run by celebrity chef Ming Tsai. The place is loud (think a bar with really good food) and a bit on the pricier side. Expect to order a bunch of small plates instead of one large entree.
One of the best things on the menu are these cheap and delicious pickled vegetables. They’re super crunchy and tangy and I would definitely order these and keep them on the side to be used as a palate cleanser and to balance out the savoriness of most of the menu.
These potstickers were excellent. Super crispy on the outside with punchy sweet and spicy flavors on the inside. Good inside and out—just like Bob Ross.
The Dan Dan noodles were a big disappointment. My biggest burning question was, why is the spinach raw?? This isn’t a damn juice bar.
Chinese people cook our veggies! Do you know what kind of bacteria and pesticides grow on veggies in China??? We cook our shit or end up blind after dinner.
The Chow Fun was an absolute scam, cleverly orchestrated to get people to eat more vegetables.
The pork ribs were gorgeous and tasty—but a little dry. Like me in Winter.
The octopus was of my fav dishes of the night. Great variety of flavors and textures and felt light and refreshing to eat.
‘The Cookie’ was booommmmbbb. Close your eyes and picture this. Hot cookie. Crispy on the edges. Soft and gooey on the inside. Bittersweet chocolate chips balanced out by smooth creamy vanilla ice cream. You take your spoon into the hot pan and fill it with all of these flavors and textures. You bring the spoon into your mouth and feel the warmth of the cookie and the cool sweetness of the ice cream. You swallow. Then you take out your phone and open Venmo. You type in @JanjanSun and Venmo me $100. Stunning—what a great time. Now open your eyes.
